The tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa in Dubai has lighted up in Ghana colours in celebration of the country’s 65th independence anniversary.
The iconic building in Dubai was seen lighted in Ghana colours on the 8th of March, 2022. The President of Ghana, H. E Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo attended the Ghana Day at the ongoing Expo. The president delivered a keynote address to the Ghanaians there as part of the 65th Independence Day celebration. The President also met with some key United Arab Emirates dignitaries and drawing conclusions for people believe that the lighting of the Burj was negotiated. It is uncertain if the President asked for it or it was a gesture done in his honor.
Many have reacted to this asking of the cost of the lighting if indeed the president paid for it. Others have praised the President for putting Ghana on the map to the world while others are wondering what this will do to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians.
In all, it is an honour seeing the colours of the Republic of Ghana on Burj Khalifa.
The Burj Khalifa has been the tallest structure and building in the world since its topping out in 2009, supplanting Taipei 101, the previous holder of that status.
