Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as “Delay”, has listed ten motivational statements which she captions, βMy 10 Commandments for Womenβ they are;
1. βDonβt be in a hurry to move out of your parents house.β
We may not know the motivation behind starting her list with this but this may be drawn from the fact that, Delay lived with her mother in Nkawkaw and worked at the Oldest Radio station in Nkawkaw (Life FM) before moving to Accra.
2. βDonβt wait for a man before u start living. U can live a fulfilled life as a single woman.β
This is evident in her current life. She is 39 years, not married and is living a fulfilled life.
3. βStay away from alcohol. It has killed others and u are not special.β
4. βDonβt entertain a wrong number call, especially at night. Its not the right way to find a lover.β
Surprisingly, nobody expected this but, it may be a lesson learned from her numerous experiences in life.
5. βDevelop a healthy eating habit. Always take breakfast and avoid sweets.β
6. βDress well: impression count. People will judge u by d way u dress even before they talk to u.β
7. βDont use sex as proof of love. Sex is no proof of love, he’ll leave u after the sex.β
8. βDont marry for the money, else youβll become one of his possessions.β
9. βAdd value to yourself – get a career. Dont be fooled that a man will solve all your problems.β This is a reiteration of the number 2 intentionally done for emphasis.
10. βBeauty is not everything. If its all you have, youβll lose your place to someone. less beautiful but more matured and competent.β
Delay is an entrepreneur, television and radio show host, producer, public speaker and Women’s Advocate in Ghana. She lived and worked in Nkawkaw before moving to Accra to hustle through the stormy life of Accra. She has to her credit a lot of innovative programs that qualify her to publish a set of commandments. Notable of them are; The Delay Show, Host (2009βpresent)(Afia Schwarzenegger) Producer (2009β2016) and Cocoa Brown (2015-2018).
