Dada Hafco: I Disagree With Kofi Kinaata

Highlife artiste Dada Hafco has thrown shots at the ‘‘Play’’ hit maker, Kofi Kinaata, over comments made on regional awards scheme.

Kofi Kinaata was crowned the artiste of the year at the just ended Western Regional Awards and called on the organisers to focus their nominations on upcoming musicians within the jurisdiction of the award scheme.

According to him, he (Kofi Kinaata) believes some of the known artistes have already made it in the music business and such established artiste do not need nominations but an honorary award.

Contrary to his views the ‘‘Yebewu Nti’’ hit singer holds the view that, not all ‘A’ list artistes can be recognised at the national level and therefore ought to be awarded at their various regions.

In an interview with GBC Sunrise Fm’s Busy Time Show host, Dj Kinino, He cited examples with Kofi B and Guru.

‘‘Looking at the great songs coming from Kofi B, he’s never been awarded, look at the songs from Guru, he’s never been awarded. So imagine there is Brong Ahafo Music awards, that if Guru misses out  at the national level, he can win at the regional level and same with Kofi B.’’ He said.

Dada Hafco emphasised that, musicians do not appreciate music from an award perspective but awards signifies growth in the business.
