A vehicle believed to be a Daewoo Matiz 3 caught fire between 9–10 PM last night in Nkawkaw, right in front of the Central Market, close to the poultry selling area.
The fire caused extensive damage, completely burning the interior from the front to the rear, including the boot, while the engine compartment appeared largely unaffected. Eyewitnesses say the situation could have worsened if not for the timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Nkawkaw Station.
Fire officers responded to the scene and successfully brought the blaze under control, despite receiving a delayed distress call.
Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.
